Are you polyamorous or ENM, expressing joy about your authentic loves? Or, are you curious about non-monogamy and don’t know where to start? We’re here for you!
Living a polyamorous or ethically non monogamous lifestyle in the open often leads to misunderstandings and misconceptions. Ingrained in modern society, people feel obligated to practice monogamy while normalizing affairs and side pieces.
Finding community and acceptance as a polyam or ENM person comes with a unique set of challenges. Those who openly practice non monogamous relationship structures are often mislabeled, judged, and invalidated, leading us to feel isolated, invisible, or like we are living a lie.
So much of navigating an ENM lifestyle is unhooking from myths and stereotypes about what these labels even mean. Non-monogamy is a spectrum, from swingers to life partners. We have learned ourselves how to create healthy non-monogamous relationships because WE are polyamorous ourselves!
Our Story
The founding members of the Living LUNA Team are a polyamorous chosen family! Ikenna and Safrianna have been together for 5 years after leaving unhealthy non monogamous situations. Justin and Safrianna have been together for over 2 years now, and Ikenna and Kristen have been together for a bit over a year.
For years, Ikenna and Safrianna explored what it means to be polyamorous in a healthy, open way, while detaching from codependency and societal programming. Thanks to their prior lived and unaligned experiences, along with their own professional experiences as ENM-informed therapists, Safrianna and Ikenna found passion for sharing polyamory education and ENM resources with the world.
A Complex, But Beneficial Relationship Structure
Polyamory and non-monogamy is not just about sex. There is a spectrum of relationships, situationships, and circumstances that these relationships find themselves in. Poly-families can be close knit chosen families when communication is compassionate and curious rather than judgemental or controlling.
Healthy polyamorous relationships can be beautiful and beneficial, with a wide range of benefits across various aspects of life, including emotional, fiscal, domestic, spiritual, and communal dimensions. Ethical non monogamy can provide boundaried ways for couples to have their diverse needs met across a spectrum of preferences and desires. These relationships promote open, honest dialogue about feelings, desires, and boundaries.
Healthy Polyamory and ENM relationships can adapt to the needs and growth of everyone involved. As desires, needs, and boundaries shift, more support can be provided. All members of the polyam relationship benefit from the broader network. This also applies for caregiving needs, in times of illness, or crisis.
Not to mention… Monogamy, in this economy???
Join Our Affirming Community Spaces
Each of us has navigated the intersections of our own fears, shames, and disappointments as they relate to how we show up in relationships and see our own role in them. We’ve navigated romantic, sexual, platonic, and familial bonds.
We are a polyamorous and Ethically Non Monogamous affirming community space, but we are not a dating or swinging community.
We’re excited to have conversations about polyamory and healthy non monogamy (heck, we’d like to talk more about healthy monogamy, too)! When you join our communities, know you’re joining a space where your unique relationship structures can be openly discussed! No need to hide your love!
