Reflections on the New Moon in Cancer Ceremony—Returning from Sabbatical with Joy and Gratitude
We're moving into the period of the Buck Moon, and summer is in full swing with vibrant energy and lots of light. There's all this potential brimming.
With it being a cancer new moon, it's calling us to question our home lives, our connection with our familial ties, and how we're relating to our environment. It's an invitation to evaluate what we need and want in our living situation and little family relationships to make things better.
The buck full moon ahead in Capricorn is really forward thinking. How do we take this energy we're learning about what's no longer working and move towards more simplicity, anchoring into the now, slowing down and reducing clutter? How do we move from overwhelmed or chaotic towards ease, flow and peace?
Transforming into the Queer-Spirit Guide
In 2016, I was a middle school English teacher, striving to make a difference for my 150+ students. Despite appearing successful, I was secretly miserable, facing abuse at home and harassment at work. However, the queer kids who sought my guidance became a catalyst for change, leading me to embrace my role as the Queer-Spirit Guide.
Understanding that I could support these children simply by accepting them inspired me to pursue a career as a professional counselor. Balancing grad school, teaching, and being a union rep while enduring abuse was incredibly challenging, but the universe had my back. My counseling internship at Heartly House provided the vocabulary and understanding I needed to recognize and break free from toxic relationships.
Over the years, I shed my old life, leaving behind an unsupportive workplace and a damaging relationship. I ventured into entrepreneurial freedom, embracing my identity as a bisexual person and working through my own traumas. Today, I proudly stand as the Queer-Spirit Guide, offering support through writing, rituals, group containers, and as the Visionary CEO of Living LUNA.
I am blessed to embody this role and use my voice and privilege to make a positive impact. How can I support you on your journey to authentic self-alignment?
